Shoshone Falls

We had to go check out the falls because the water was at record levels. It is always beautiful to see, especially when there is so much water.

They are checking out a rock-chuck. If you look very hard at the left corner, you just might spot him, if not the little critter is below. I don't think Samuel ever really spotted him, but Wes had him convinced that if he hung his legs over the rock wall that it would nibble on his legs.

Cute little guy. I couldn't get any closer without scaring him away.

The three of us. I really am blessed to get to spend so much time with the two of them. A big thanks to my 'honey' for working so hard so we can just tag along with him whenever we want or stay home at nap if we feel like it.

Easter 2009

Coloring Easter Eggs was interesting. Samuel would have colored every egg blue; his favorite color, only being the 'mean mom' that I am, I didn't let him. My mom thought that I should let him color them any way he wanted too; spoken like a true Grandma right?

Easter Balloons from Grandma Nu-Nu. They ended up on the ceiling despite my efforts to anchor them down.

Samuel wanted to hide the eggs, so here they are...he really made an attempt to place them all so carefully.

No this isn't a real plane, just the kite 'Mammy' (Christy) bought Samuel for Easter. And proof that Wes actually got it in the air; I never thought the stupid thing was going to fly.

Pilot Samuel, he had a good time, even though it was freezing.

Checking out some Easter Basket goodies.

Samuel's "Tower of Pails & Baskets"

Egg hunting was interesting with Samuel. After every egg he picked up he had to open it, if it was plastic; if it was hard boiled, well he wanted to eat it. Needless to say he didn't get as many eggs as the other kids, but he was happy as can be just doing his thing.

Burkely and Samuel...they just love eachother!

Daddy showing Samuel a frog. Samuel wanted nothing to do with it and the funny thing was that Wes didn't want to touch it either, but as the 'daddy' he had to.

Observations of a 2 year old

How many 2 year olds sit and watch a back-hoe? or a concrete mixer?
Well mine does...here he is, in his chair sitting in the drive way watching the back-hoe.
Hey, I guess whatever keeps him entertained right?
If you want to see an instant smile, ask him if he is going to work with daddy. He absolutely loves working with Wes and he just gets right in there and thinks he can do it all.
One morning he woke up because he heard "beeping" the first thing he asked was "mommy is that a mixer truck?"...for those of you unfamiliar with concrete trucks, they beep when they back up...he honestly doesn't miss a thing.

A Day on the Course

Samuel is in LOVE with golfing!
If we would let him he would golf everyday...no kidding! This is his "yellow ball" which he pretty much begged away from a guy at the driving range. Wes took him to the driving range and he saw a yellow ball, he had no idea they came in a color other than white. So after minutes of telling Wes he wanted a yellow ball, the man gave him one and it is his prized possession.
Here are my guys headed to find "daddy's ball". If you don't get to it first Samuel picks it up and hands it to you...so helpful.

Does he look like a natural?

He is also a professional cart driver too.
All smiles after 9 holes...actually I don't think we made it 9 holes, maybe 6, it got too cold.
